Summary
The final round one match of the evening would prove that Yahtzee can be just as exciting to watch as it is to play. And boy this match was a barnstormer! It was the turn of Claire and Jacob. Jacob had not played competitive Yahtzee since the End of Year Knockout just under three months ago. But you wouldn't have known it. In the first match he played like a demon on steroids. The young lad managed to get not one, not two, but three Yahtzees. His final score was nothing short of spectacular. It's not like Claire even got a bad score. But there was no way she could keep up with Jacob's dicey onslaught. Obviously, the first match went to Jacob, and boy was it deserved.
In the second match, Claire showed much resilience through her lager soaked gaze. A whopping score like Jacob's first would rattle some competitors, but not Claire. She knew she could pull it back, and that's exactly what she did. She threw a Yahtzee or two of her own and finished with a more than respectable score and took the match. They were now level again, so we headed into the decider.
The final match was bum squeakingly tense. Both players knew what was at stake. It was up and down, back and forth, every which way you could think of. It was a tussle for the ages. But, eventually, experience would prevail. Claire goes through to the quarter final where she will play either Kerrie or Millie. But do not take anything away from Jacob, he played like an absolute warrior and I cannot wait to see him play again!!
