Summary
The first of the month saw the fourteenth core match commence as we sat at the table and stared each other down, hungry, rabid even, to gain the upper hand and claim victory in the match and improve their position in the table. The latter, unfortunately, would fail to transpire.
It was my fairly average self that claimed the victory, which was a huge surprise as my head was elsewhere that evening. I have to admit (or others will quibble) that I was not in the greatest of moods. I had a brain fog the likes I had never experienced and there was nothing I could do to shift it. To summarise, I was a miserable git. I do, however, remain first in the table, which did go somewhere towards helping. Claire came a relatively close second in the match. Her demeanor was much the same as usual, prickly, with a hint of sarcasm (or a torrent of it), but generally in good spirits. She remains third in the table. Russell nestled his ample frame into third place in the match. It wasn't a bad performance considering the amount of huffing and puffing that was coming from his corner. Many years years ago he was once on the board of The East India Trading Company. A company renowned for it's shady doings. My father was a bit of a dogsbody on the board and was the go between of the Company and Prince George IV, a man he despised as he was often asked to tend to his gout and pop his piles back in, despite it not being in his job description. Suffice to say, I think this is where the grumbling comes from. He remains fourth in the table (went a bit obscure with that one, eh?). Kerrie struggled a bit this week, but not drastically so it has to be said, even though she did finish last in the match. She did well as she was also in talks with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi at the time, trying to get the city shut down so she could get away for a couple of days. She remains second in the table.
