The Disinterested Player - Know Your Opponent

Unless, like me, you absolutely, positively can't get enough of Yahtzee, it is possible that at times, when a league match comes around, you just might not be feeling it on that particular evening. This is perfectly natural. Everyone suffers from a bit of player's fatigue from time to time, especially at the BHO, we play whenever is possible and the calendar for 2025 is just as packed as 2024's, if not more, so it's to be expected. We are only human (well, most of us) and life can be hectic at times, so it makes the things we love hard to enjoy at time as we are just too preoccupied with with the grind of modern living. Not so much myself, I have the benefit of being able to be a bit single minded when it comes to my interests, and I have my wonderful wife to thank for that. She's a gem... most of the time. But those people are the temporarily game weary people I'm referring to, however, these are not the people I am referring to when I say "disinterested...

Yahtzee Bulletin - 01/05/25

I am delighted to announce that the BHOF0001 Yahtzee League will return with a third season on the 10th May! It's proving to be the biggest one yet, with new members being brought into the fold. It will be a fifteen match battle to be the top dog! Will Claire get her second League win? Will Kerrie? Or will there be a new champion? Could it even be me? No, probably not. But either way, I'm pretty bloody excited! We are also going national. My lovely daughter, Grace, will be joining us for the League. Only problem is, she is currently sequestered in Wales, which is where she is likely to stay. So most, if not all, matches will be split matches, split between online and in person play. All scores will then be collated and summarised as one. Anyhoo, look out for the summaries. Growing The BHO #2

The last time I spoke upon the subject of growing the BHO was in February. So, a fair amount of time has passed and some things have changed and some things haven't, so i thought now would be a good opportunity to keep you all abreast about what has been going on, so here goes! Well, let's start with the things that haven't happened. I'm an honest(ish) man, so when I break promises, I own it. I more or less guaranteed in February that we would be holding Yahtzee evenings in local pubs by the time I wrote this update. Weeeell, that hasn't happened. But it's not because I don't want to. There are two main reasons this hasn't happened yet. The first is a finacial issue. At the moment I just can't afford to be spending very many, if any evenings in the boozer playing Yahtzee. Secondly, I suffer with anxiety and nothing scares me more than setting up an evening of Yahtzee only for me to be the only person there, looking like a prize turnip. But I ke...
