Summary
The privilege of playing our very last round one match was Lee and Lily. A seasoned veteran of the Yahtzee board up against a vodka imbibing stoner. I wasn't expecting fireworks, especially when Lee shuffled in for his match looking like he'd been awake for a full week solid. He slumped in his seat and pulled a face that looked like he would murder the first person that spoke to him and they got underway!
I think Lee approached the first game a little overconfidently, I don't think he expected too much from Lily. But that turned out to be a foolish assumption. Not only did Lily win, but she won by quite the margin. It seems there might just be room for a brain in Lily's little pin head. The first game was hers and Lee had some catching up to do. It was clear that in game two Lee had pulled his little Spongebob socks up as he now looked like a man who had come to win. He was no more cheery, but you can't expect miracles. Lee took the second game, making it level pegging and taking us in to a deciding game. The third game was a tight one, very back and forth. I think Lee was feeling the pressure but you couldn't tell, his "I'm the most miserable git ever" face was doing a good job of masking any pressure he might have been feeling. You also couldn't tell what Lily was feeling through her "I'm an alien and I have drunk lots of vodka and smoked lots of weed" face. So it all came down to the results. Lee took the victory and the match, but it has to be said that he won by only three points. Very tight indeed. Lee goes through and will play Molly in the quarter final. Lily, commiserations, you were close. But just not close enough!
