Summary
Russell and Kerrie were away this weekend. They had rented Scarborough for a few days. No, not a cottage in Scarborough, the whole of Scarborough. This is quite normal for them as Kerrie doesn't like to be bothered by anyone when she's away so they just pay to have the place evacuated. Anyway, all this is to say that rather than attending in person, they joined via video link.
I came first, for the second week running. This, for me, is something truly remarkable. But, the cynic in me can't help feeling like it's all gonna come crashing down at a critical moment, completely scuppering my chances to earn a badge. But for now, I not only remain first in the table, I am putting a fair amount of distance between me and my fellow competitors. So, at the moment I'm sitting relatively comfortably. Russell managed second place from his cozy confines of his place in the south wing of one of many of the mansions that were at his disposal for the few days he was to be in Scarborough. He played well as he wore his smoking jacket, adjusted his monacle and swirled his brandy around in his glass. What a ponse. He remains fourth in the table. Claire slithered her way into third place with a so-so performance. Mediocrity is quickly becoming Claire's by word. "But I don't care," she will say, "I already have two badges!" Yes, we know Claire, you're getting boring. She remains third in the table. Then there was Kerrie. Last, again. What is going on?! It could be that this week she was distracted. She spent a lot of time jangling her jewels and swearing at the butler, but who knows. She remains second in the table.
