Summary
It was the final Head To Head match of the night, and it really did feel like a finale. It was my boy, the king of the poker face, and Claire's boy, yet another noob, James, king of takeaway Chicken nuggets.
The first game saw James looking at the dice like he was just asked to explain Einstein's theory of relativity. He looked lost in the weeds. Miles had his regular steely face. But here's the thing, as the game progressed, James found his rhythm. He was scoring like a drug dealer in a brothel. I couldn't tell if Miles was worried because his face never changed. However, eventually the match fell to James and he was on his way. Miles didn't flinch, he just waited for game two.
Well, game two, luckily for Miles, was right around the corner, and he played valiantly. For a good time he was in the lead, but at some point he must have got distracted by the thoughts of oily... something or other and that's when James came right up from behind and took the lead again! Miles did his best to fend him off, but it wasn't happening and James got his way in the end. He took the second game, and Miles is now out! Just like his dad, his eldest sister and his mother. James now moves on to the second round and he will play my last remaining member of my immediate IMMEDIATE family, Isabelle. But, it has to be said, good job James, you took the challenge and you absolutely dominated. Respect, brother!
