Summary
It was time once again for the Champion's League as we scratch another match off the roster and head ever closer to the finale. I needed to maintain my lead, Russell needed a good result and Claire needed waking up so we could play. The souse!
After weeks in the wilderness with painfully poor scores, Kerrie comes out of the shadows and wallops us all with a beautiful score, aided by no less than two Yahtzees. Yes, she showed us that she still have the heart of a champion if only she can be bothered to find it... at least once a week. Despite her fantastic score she remains last place in the League.
Russell came second in the match. Really he needed first place to gain some traction on me, but, second really isn't that bad... considering! In a past life there is no way he would have ever accepted second place... well actually, he would never have even finished in second place in the first instance. In the mid eighteen hundreds, Russell "The Phantom" Bush, was the most notorious card sharp in our parts. Every gambler feared for their money when the Phantom came to town. The thing is, he was actually no good at playing cards by the rules, but he was the finest cheat around. That is until he came up against Alf "The Assassin" Alfredson. He quickly noticed what Russell was up to. Needless to say, it did not end well. Russell died that day, so he swore he would never cheat again. He remains second in the League, a fair way away from first (points wise).
I came third in the match, which was less than ample. But... it was deserved, I did play like a bit of a twat. I think the problem is me. Yes, I know, what a shock, Chris plays a bit shit. I do believe though that I am getting a bit complacent. Getting a nice lead in a League is a great thing, optimal in fact. But it's only great if you keep it! And one of my more negative traits is that I do tend to think the race is won long before it actually is. So I've given myself a slap and I've promised myself it will not happen again. That doesn't mean that it won't, though! I remain first in the League.
Finally, after been woken from her Danish brewed stupor, Claire finished last in the match, which was to be expected. Y'know... Carlsberg in the Cornflakes... Anyway, it's fair to say that she didn't play her best. I got an inkling of this from the complete sewer mouth that spilled from her ample, venemous gut when Kerrie got her second Yahtzee. It didn't hurt her too badly though as she remains third in the League.
League Table as of 27/09/25
