Summary
League #3 had come to an end. After all the celebrating and whooping, primarily coming from Russell, we thought why not get right back down to business and crack on with another Champion's League match? After all, we're in the final third of the competition and things are hotting up. Russell looked like he'd been snorting something, such is the winner's high (who can blame him?), so he was definitely up for it. So, after a bit of persuasion, we decided to bash on.
Claire came first in the match, and I think I know why. She'd spent the entirety of the final League match listening to Rusty jabbering in her ear about his victory that I think she really wanted to stick it to him. And stick it to him, she did. Trouble is, she also stuck it to myself and Kerrie too. Not exactly fair! She remains third in the League.
Little old me finished second in the match with a pretty average score if I'm honest. I was feeling quite bereft after my devastating, if not unexpected, second place result in the League. But that's not to say I didn't try my darndest. But I seemed to be all fingers and thumbs at the dice board by this point, which is usually a good thing, as you need them to roll. But not like I was rolling them, believe me! I remain first in the League.
Fresh from his new Championship, Russell came third in the match. I'm not surprised. With the amazing, dizzying highs, comes the inevitable lows. I'm not sure this is what happened, but what I can say is that I would have been exactly the same way. My dad, Russell, is not the most competitive human on the planet, and I'm the same. Stop laughing, it's true. I know I can chat shit, but me and the old man are pretty similar. We don't tend to chase glory, but when it finally does come our way, boy, does it feel good! So, unsurprisingly, when my daddy got the victory, he revelled in it. It was just a shame he couldn't carry that glory over to this match. He remains second in the League.
Kerrie, who was already pretty played out by this point, came fourth in the match. Yes, she did play, but it was only after a bit of elbowing in the ribs by the Champion, but we've talked enough about him! Honestly Russ, get a room! It was not a fine performance, or a high scoring performance. But it was a performance. Proof, to me at least, that she does have the stamina to rock on and get shit done. This could be the reason that her next holiday is the first documented trip to Mars. What can I say? She knows what she wants. She does, however remain fourth in the League.
