Summary
Despite the enforcement of a two week break from Yahtzee, we all collectively felt there was something missing from our Saturday evening. And that thing was... well... Yahtzee. So we decided to have a quick Core Match to satiate our withdrawals.
Claire bagged the top spot. She was just on the wrong side of sober, which meant she actually did pretty well. She usually does better once the shakes have worn off. She didn't improve her position in the table any though. She remains in third. Kerrie took second in the match with an acceptable performance. I'm not one to get ahead of myself but it seems this Championship is basically a two horse race between Kerrie and myself, so her finishing above me in the match is bad for me. So I wasn't best pleased. She remains second in the table but she could definitely reach the 5000 point threshold in the next match. I came third in the match, thankfully not too far behind Kerrie. I remain first in the table with a mere 210 points to get to reach 5000. My first Championship is within my grasp. So close I can almost feel that badge. The only question is, will I capitulate like I have a massive tendency to do in times where a solid performance is called for? Dear God, I hope not. Poor Russell came last, but only just. I think he's exhausted all of his competitive adrenaline on the Head to Head final the week prior, so I guess we need to cut him some slack. He'll be back, all in good time. He remains fourth in the table.
So, it's getting bloody close! The next match may very well be the last. I wish Kerrie the very best, but by christ, I hope it's me.
