Summary
A week had passed, and it was time for another League match. Now, I've spoken about split matches before, but this week took the biscuit. For one reason or another, it turned out to be impossible to get the majority of our competitors in the same room at the same time. So we ended up playing this League match in four different sittings. Certainly not ideal, but it's definitely a testament to how effective the split matches can be when that good old fashioned pain in the arse called life gets in the way.
Kerrie bagged the top spot in the match this week with an annoyingly respectable score. I say annoying because until she bloody came along I was right at the top of the tree. But no matter, she was the better player and she does deserve the credit, even if she deserves a slap as well. She improved her standing in the table from eighth to joint fourth. I came second, with what I thought was a winning score... you'd think I would have learned by now. But no, I'm forever counting those chickens. I do, however, improve my table position from second to first. GET IN THERE! There I go with the chicken counting again. Faith put in a decent shift, finishing third in the match, and she did it all while being extremely angry at her husband, me. I tend to have that effect on her. But it seems to help so she can't really grumble. She moves from sixth in the table to joint fourth with Kerrie. Love you, darling. Claire came fourth in the match. Obviously, now she holds two Championship badges, I wish for her only the worst. In fact, last place is too good for her. But, fourth place out of eleven is nothing to sniff at. And it certainly helped her out. She moves from fourth in the table to third. Jacob came fifth this week. A bit of a blip for the mighty morphing, always throbbing crocheting machine. It didn't do him any favours neither. He moves from top spot in the table to second. Move outta my way Jacobi! Chloe came sixth, which given the amount of stress she was under, was quite a reasonable result. According to reports, Chloe is a lot like myself when it comes to her brain working overtime. It was her dad's birthday, bless her. She was stressing about what to get him. Apparently buying two pairs of very different trainers, 15 years apart, is just a bit too repetitive... okay... She improves her table position from tenth to eighth. Good for her. Neil finished seventh, a definite improvement from coming dead last the week before, but still, not a great performance. But he must have been in a hurry. Candy Crush isn't going to play itself is it? He improves his table position from eleventh to joint ninth. Grace managed eighth in the match. It was a bit of a disappointing performance after her third place match the week prior. But, again, I think she was preoccupied. She lives in Wales now with her Welsh boyfriend and I think it's a full time job keeping him away from the sheep. Bloody Welsh people. She falls from third in the table to sixth. Russell finished ninth in the match... again... for the second week running. And boy didn't we hear about it. For context, Russell is generally the kind of man to take the majority of life's little "gifts" in his stride. But not on that evening. The miserable git never ceased waffling, complaining and bitching about his luck. Get a grip lad, you don't see me doing that... ahem. He has stayed right where he was in the table, ninth, but at the moment he's currently sharing it with Neil. Millie came tenth, another welsh person. But she lives in my neck of the woods so she doesn't have sheep for an excuse. It was a pretty dismal outing that saw her drop from fifth in the table to seventh. And at the very bottom of the pile, in eleventh place was Lee. Not the greatest start from the forehead. Come on fella, you're better than this! He falls from seventh in the table to joint ninth with Russell and Neil.
