Blog # 9 - A Reply! Finally!

So, it's been a while since I have checked in. Why? Well, I'll tell you. I have sent out dozens of emails all over the flipping place trying to get some interest in these Yahtzee Packs, and I have to be honest, it has been like pulling teeth! Depressingly, I was beginning to doubt myself. I even sent a reminder to my daughter's school, and again, nothing!
Then it came, out of the blue, an email in my inbox. Just the email that my ego and myself needed. An email from a school (that I will not name, just in case) that told me that my idea for handing out Yahtzee Packs to kids was a great idea and that they would love to take me up on my offer. I don't think I need to tell you that I was elated! Finally, I got some official validation as to what I was attempting wasn't just a waste of time! What I do need to tell you is that it wasn't my daughter's school. I gave them ample opportunity to reply and I even sent them a reminder, but they couldn't even see their way clear to responding. I'm not bitter, honest. But, interested or not, it's common courtesy to tell you, no?
But anyway. They told me that they have two classes to every year and that each class has thirty students. Obviously, that makes sixty students. Heidi's school is not like this, so I had been concentrating on making around thirty to forty packs. Now I need sixty. This is no big deal. I had been aiming on ordering a hundred of everything. Except the dice, as these are the most expensive part of the pack, as you might imagine. I had already ordered an extra fifty dice before I got that email, but we still need another one hundred and fifty more to meet the requirement. This is not a huge deal, but, so far, all this has been paid for from the entrance fees to the BHO's competitions, but now we are pretty much scraping the barrell. I don't mind footing the bill for the surplus, but I haven't told my wife yet... wish me luck.
Regardless of all that though, I am extremely excited to get the young ones interested in Yahtzee AND their parents by proxy.
Good things are happening and I absolutely cannot wait for the next chapter. Stick with us friends, their is more to come!

  1. If 2 classes per year = 60 students…
Are you only supplying packs for 1 school year? Which year are you choosing?

    1. I would prefer to to hand them out to children around 7 years of age, but I aim to cater for all the children in one school. Then we will go from there. But it all costs money. So we will see xxx
