Summary
This week's Live Match was unfortunately a little bit thin in the competitor count. But do we ever let that bother us? Absolutely bloody not! As with every other Friday, I was raring to go. And you can take my word for it when I say I rared and I went!
I came first this week. If I'm honest, I'm actually pretty bloody proud of that fact! Why? Well, I'll tell you why! I managed to get a Yahtzee! Me! A flipping Yahtzee! This is almost unheard of from me! But, not only did I get a Yahtzee, but that was quckly followed up by ANOTHER Yahtzee! This, quite honestly blew my mind, so needless to say, I was one happy camper... I would have been ten times happier if only I hadn't already put a zero on my Yahtzee score before I even rolled the first one! I can't lie, this did leave a little bit of a sour taste. But in the end, it all came good, thank Christ, and I managed to finish first! It was by no means a convincing victory, but it WAS a victory, by God!
Claire managed to finish second in the Match, with a fairly good performance, something she has sorely needed for a good long while. Although the fact that she got a Yahtzee AND scored it as such but still came second may have taken the sheen off her "achievement" slightly! But she didn't lose by much, it just turns out that I am better than her in every conceivable way. But she should have known that anyway!
Russell came in third which, believe it or not, was still an eency weency bit of an achievement. Primarily because he was dead last until the last two rolls... literally! He seems to think that the online matches have some kind of vendetta against him and it's the website's fault, not his. This is nonsense, obviously, but he's done such a fine job of convincing himself that this is true, he really does tend to play like a big pile of manure. But I think he only has himself to blame for this, not the poor, defenceless website.
My gorgeous wife, Faith, came last. Well, someone has to don't they? But I do feel a bit bad for her, though. The poor duck was actually doing quite well for the first three quarters of the match. It was only when Russell got his lucky Yahtzee that she seemed to capitulate. You would think, with her being the wife of the BHO Chairman, that she would know that anything can happen in Yahtzee and that's why you should never, EVER give up! Who knows, maybe she does, but there can be a difference between knowing something and being able to apply it with success! I think she needs another lesson with the master (wherever he is)...
