Summary
January is here and the Live Matches have returned and it just so happened that this week's Live Match was the BHO's first official Match of the year!
Lee won the Match with a fantastic performance. It wasn't necessarily a fantastic score, but the boy spent half of the match with a pretty dire score, but managed to win it with a few wise decisions... and a Yahtzee, which always helps. Hopefully this gives him a little tingle in his twangle and he moves on to great things in the League, because at the moment, just between you and me, it's not going too great for him...
Millie, who continues to prove that she is the darkest of horses, came second. It actually looked like she had the Match in the bag until Lee came up from behind, but it's okay, they're a couple so she's used to it. I'm telling ya, if this young lady carries on the way she has been, there are Championships coming her way!
I came third and even I thought I could take first place at one point! But when am I ever that bloody fortunate? But I'm cool with it, I'm actually getting a lot better at losing. This loss will only affect me for the next six months, a marked improvement!
It was nice to see Jacob come fourth. Not because I'm spiteful, but because Jacob usually dominates the Live Matches and it can get a bit bloody tedious! But even so, he didn't lose by much. In fact, if you look at the scores of the top for players in the match you will notice that there wasn't actually a whole lot in it! But I bet Jacob doesn't see it that way. I can picture him now, sat in front of the mirror, his mascara running because of all the tears, verbally abusing himself. That's our Jake!
Russell, our End of Year Knockout 2025 Champion, came fifth. This may seem strange as you would think he would be on a bit of a high after his monumental victory, but I think I know what's going on. I may be wrong but Russell may be suffering from a common condition in sport (yes, Yahtzee IS a sport) known as "The Champion's Lull". Basically what this means is that he has blown his competitive beans in the Knockout Championship so at the moment he is bereft of his competitive edge! This left him in no fit state to play Yahtzee of any description, even a friendly Match! The good news is that it is only temporary and he will be back to his cantankerous, miserly and nastily competitive ways in no time at all!
Claire, who can claim no such excuse, came sixth. I am actually getting concerned for her. She keeps telling us that it's just a blip and that she'll turn things around. I, however, am not so sure! It's like she is competitively constipated or something, and these excuses just make her sound like she is full of crap. I just hope that this "constipation" clears itself up and she comes back to the Yahtzee board completely refreshed and ready to battle! COME ON CLAIRE!!!!
