The dust has settled from League Three, the Champion has been crowned and we've all had a bit of a rest. So, I am relieved to announce that the League is returning! Yes my friends, League Four will commence on Saturday 1st November, 2025. But before we get into it, I felt it was my duty to let you all in on the few changes we have made.
Firstly, we have made the executive decision to play our matches once every two weeks rather than once per week. This gives those competitors that have actual lives to do their own thing. I also believe it will reduce what I call "Yahtzee saturation". Yes, we all love Yahtzee, but that doesn't mean it can't get on top of you a bit by playing week in, week out, especially when we have multiple tournaments on the go. It will also give me the opportunity to spend more time writing the summaries. This is a minor benefit as i honestly love doing it but it is a benefit nonetheless.
Secondly, we have decided to increase the length of the League from fifteen matches up to twenty. The reason for this basically all comes down to scheduling. We all love a bit of a break when the League is over, but we don't like it too long. Also I have noticed that the League occurs sporadically throughout the year. I would like this to change. I want one League per year that begins and ends at roughly the same time per year (delays notwithstanding). This way the League will take up most of the year and the break should be short enough that we don't start sweating and craving Yahtzee. Will it work? Well, there's only one way to find out isn't there? So we'll give it a try.
Finally, just a bit of news. As it stands, League Four is looking as if it is going to be the biggest yet! Fifteen members are confirmed and this leaves me overjoyed! Yes, there could be a few dropouts, but that's fine, it's par for the course!
