Good day my friends. I hope this glorious day greets you well. Bit of a different post for ya here.
Earlier today a few of my chums and I, well BHO members, of course, got together and played a bit of a friendly. This was fantastic, for two reasons: firstly, I love playing Yahtzee (derr), so I definitely love a good impromptu match, which this definitely was, but secondly, it was Lee's idea! I was very happy and very touched... he just can't keep his hands to himself, the dirty boy! But even more than all this, this friendly was such a doozy that I felt it deserved an honourable mention. So this post is not a summary (I don't summarise friendlies, or I would never stop writing) but it is a record of a performance that was so legendary that I just could NOT let it go unrecognised... and it came from Millie no less! Let's talk...
For a good two thirds of the mach I was doing pretty well. I had two Yahtzees, my Small and Large Straight and my Full House, so I was feeling pretty indestructible. But then along comes Millie with a Yahtzee. I was not overly concerned, it happens... then she got another one. I was starting to sweat. Then she gets her Bonus, which put her in the lead. I was not happy, but it was far from a lost cause... until she got her THIRD YAHTZEE!!! That was when I knew... she had destroyed me! This plucky young lass finished with 535 points. This is a bloody awesome score! I was well and truly beat! I had to check to see if she had beaten my all time best score, which thankfully she hadn't, but there was no denying it, she had left me writhing in the filth of defeat.
I'm not going to pretend that I was happy to get so roundly trounced by Millie, but I have to admit that just below my seething rage was a good portion of admiration and respect. She played phenominally, she showed resilience when often she might have given up. I know if someone scores two Yahtzees against me I tend to write off the match as a lost cause! But Millie didn't, she kept at it, and it damn well paid off!
So, Millie, if you can bring this type of performance to League Four, whose to say where you might might end up? Fifth in the League? Third? First???????? I don't know, but I'm now very excited to find out!!
