Dad vs. The Boy - A Fight For Masculine Supremacy - Match #13 - 14/10/25

Introduction
It took a while to get Miles out of his bedroom and away from his teenager type things so we could square off against each other once again, but I managed to get him cornered and I strong armed him all the way to the Yahtzee board.
I have learned, since the last time, yet I have always suspected it, that Miles is a bit of a chameleon. The Miles you get one week may not be the Miles you get on another. This applies to many factors in his life, but none more so than his attendance at school. Was it not in the last Man vs. Boy summary in which I praised the little git for an almost 100% attendance rate? Well, I'm sorry to report that it has taken a bit of a plunge of late. No-one said it would be an easy road, but boy oh boy Miles, you do make it a hard one.
It's been a tricky few weeks between Miles and myself. We've been a bit... fractious. The trouble is, and I'll be the first to admit it, I can be a wee bit intolerant at times and Miles has a habit of droning on, asking me questions about one single subject that I've already told him twenty three times that it's a subject about which I know absolutely nothing! So you can see how we might butt heads. But we usually kiss and make up eventually.
But there is some good news! Miles has, albeit begrudgingly, agreed to play in League 4. This is fantastic. Everytime Miles has competed officially in the BHO, he has always performed well, and I think he deserves another crack at a win! I believe in him, even if he doesn't believe in himself!
Finally, it seems Miles may have found himself a lady friend, that would certainly put a few rumours to bed. It's not for sure, but he's definitely behaving cagey enough when he's asked about her! Good for you lad!!

Summary
It was not exactly a close match. Even those that are desperate to win enjoy a match more when it's a close one, unless you need a win to take the Championship, then you wanna be as far in front as possible! I think the fact that Miles was two matches behind going into this one may have affected his focus. This can happen. Unfortunately, this is a bit of a family trait. If I find myself behind in a competition it is very easy for me to grow increasingly despondent. I have to try very hard to remain focused. This seems to be what's happening here. The crazy part of it is that I didn't really play that well, so there was room for Miles to turn the tides! But alas, it wasn't to be...

Standings
Chris 8 - 5 Miles

Final Thoughts
Well, I now need only two matches to reach victory, but that is not to say that Miles couldn't mount a comeback. In fact, I sincerely hope he does!
