Summary
And it all came down to this, the final match of the Champions League! The men (and women) were sorted from the boys (and girls), the wheat was sorted from the chaff. Who would take home the Championship? Yeah, I know, it's not exactly a cliffhanger, mainly because I'm awesome... but we have to play along don't we??
It was a lovely match for yours truly. Not only was the Championship decided before this final match came along, but I only went and bloody won the match as well! So it was an amazing finale to an amazing Champions League. For me... Now I know I sound like a bit of a slimy, arrogant wanker. And I swear to God (if he existed) that this is not my intention, but, a victory like this does not come my way too often! So I'm enjoying it! So please forgive me if I sound like a bit of a smarmy twat for a brief moment. It's not really in my nature, but you better believe, I'm happy about it!! I, unsurprisingly, finished first in the League and I am the first Champions League Champion. Woo. Hoo.
Kerrie came second in the match. It was a pretty good score actually. Trouble is, this is something that she hadn't really done throughout the Championship. I think this is mainly down to general disinterest. But it's okay. We have been playing pretty bloody relentlessly for almost two years, and I have taken steps to rectify that (more info on the blog). I'm sure when the new calender comes into effect, she will make a name for herself, once again. Because, and I'm not sure if you remember, but at the beginning, Kerrie was THE woman to beat. She was awesome. So, come on Kerrie, more of that please! She, regrettably, finishes last in the League.
Claire came third. Admittedly, I am a bit concerned about her future prospects. Yes she is a two time Champion, but she has slid so far down the pecking order it's almost laughable. But, if you have read the latest Live Match summary, you will know that she has switched performance enhancers. She has gone from grean (Carlsberg) to blue (Bud Light). Whether that will make a difference, I have no Idea, I guess we shall have to wait and see. She finishes joint second in the League.
Russell finished fourth. This is not a huge surprise as he had pretty much given up hope the minute he realised that I had already won. That's okay though. It can be hard to keep your interest once the whole thing has been decided. But you would think, knowing his son had been crowned the Champion that he would at least be a little encouraging... nope, he didn't have a single kind thing to say to me all night. In fact, he even had to ruin my victory photo (see below). He finishes joint second with Claire.
Anyway, all jokes aside, it means an awful lot that anybody even decides to humour me with the competitions, so thank you all for joining in and I'll see you all again next time. Love you all!!!!
