Summary
Friday came around again, as it has a tendency to do. How predictable... YAWN... anyway, there is one good thing about Fridays. Can you guess what it is? No! You bloody idiots! It's because we get to play our live matches!
First place... for the first time in about six months... was Lee. And boy did we hear about it?! Waffle, waffle, waffle. Honestly, it was like he had won every match since the BHO had started! In truth, it's a bit like he had just visited Muhammad Ali's open casket, smacked him in the mouth and insisted that he had just knocked out the greatest boxer in the world. I won't go so far as to say that he is deluded, I love the little scamp! But honestly...
I came second. But I was nowhere near as pompous about it. Primarily because I came second. Yes, I am ashamed to say that if I had come first, I would have probably sounded a lot like Lee, just with a far more masculine voice. But Lee got a Yahtzee and I didn't. Those are the breaks sometimes. Boo. Hoo.
Russell, the white van man, or the white van prowler as he has been called in the newspapers, came third, with a pretty good score. Y'know, I have to say, regardless of the rumours, I am genuinely impressed. From where he started in the first League up until now, he has improved exponentially! He might call it luck, but I call it skill. I am often at odds with players who claim that Yahtzee is a mere game of chance, and my evidence? Ironically, it begins with Ruseell (one of those). Ask yourselves this, merely based on our results; why is it, generally, Claire, Russell and myself are usually near the top of the results and Faith, Millie and Molly (when she plays) are generally near the bottom (no offence, girls)? Well, to me, that's skill and consistency! All this is to say that Ruseell, my friend, my daddy, my sweaty man mountain, you have found your consistency, and more! But if you could just give it a rest for a while...
Faith came fourth, with an ever so slightly better result than usual. In contrast to what I have just said, I do have a theory as to why Faith is usually a bit crap. In society, it's generally nice to be nice. Don't get me wrong, Faith is a beautifully lovely human being. She is always pleasant and polite and she will do ANYTHING for ANYONE. Unless that person is me! And I am the one that usually jostles her into playing. So, I believe that spite might be a contributing factor. But I'll leave it there. I would like to see tomorrow!! Love you, my little turtle...
Claire, obviously competitively bereft after the Champion's League match, came fifth. But why? Normally a decent score is followed by another decent score! Primarily because you are on a coaster! But nah, not Claire. Fifth place Claire, really? What has happened to you? Now, she is no heroin addict (although she could pass for one), but I do think that we need to perform an intervention!
Millie, surprise surprise, came last. I do feel bad (honest) having to use Millie as a constant footnote to these match summaries. But if I am truly honest, she really has no one to blame but herself. Why? Well, I don't know if it's ADHD or just pure Welshness, but every time she plays, she is always distracted! Whether she is doodling or diddling Lee's plums, she is always mentally elsewhere! Don't get me wrong: drawing and playing with Lee's testicles are both fine, if not honourable, passtimes! But, Millie, there is a time and a place! If Lee is being persistent, dont fondle his knackers! Flick 'em!!! When rolling dice, concentrate on the dice! You can do so much better...
