Summary
Ohhhh the end is getting tantalisingly close! After this match there is just one single match remaining, then we will be crowning the Champion's Champion! But, we're not there yet, so it's business as usual!
Claire, unusually, took the top spot this week. She has been ill for the previous few days so perhaps her improved play is just another symptom. Who knows? It was a mighty fine effort, but she does remain third in the League.
Equally, Kerrie had a good result, which, once again, is a strange occurrence these days, but I do have a theory about this one. She is going away tomorrow, and you know know how we all get a bit giddy when we're off somewhere. It's a kind of insatiable rush of positivity you get that is fantastic when it's happening to you but it's pretty insufferable when you aren't going anywhere and you have to sit with it. Not than any of us had to sit with it, though, it was an online match. Phew! Once again, despite the fine performance, Kerrie remains fourth in the League.
I came third in the match with a bit of an iffy score. I knew this would happen. I've played pretty bloody well all the way through the competition, but as soon as we got down to the last few matches, or the nitty gritty if you like, my knees start to knock and I have to resort to scraping out results. This is incredibly stressful for me and it has led to some pretty intense debriefings with myself in the post match bath. Having said all this, however, I do remain first in the League.
Finally, there was Russell... my closest rival... last. Cheers Rusty. Appreciate it. Although I'm almost 100% positive that he did not intend to give me a break, the result was just about the same as it would have been if he had. Russell is usually pretty easy to read when it comes to his many distractions and his many... MANY inadequacies. But, as I've previously stated, this was an online match so i didn't get to study the man's body language. So really, any reason that I might give for his poor score would be mere conjecture. But let's have a go anyway! He was "obviously" preoccupied by memories of the time he was arrested for driving a transit van with the words "free candy" spray painted on the side of it. In his defence... no... there really is no defence. You're a bad man Russell Bush! He remains second in the League.
