Summary
Boy, these matches are really marching on aren't they? One minute we're just getting started and people are making weak excuses for losing like "there's still plenty of time" and the next we're playing match nine leaving only six more to go! So, yes, we're getting down to the nitty gritty, but it's no less exciting, there is a titanic tussle for supremacy at the top and the less said about the bottom the better.
Russell took the top spot this week. This man has always been a bit of a thorn in my side, being my "father", but now he's becoming a huge pain in my arse! Both in the Champion's League and the League I have been forced to wrestle with him for top position and it's getting bloody tedious. Where have the days when he was too distracted by his past to play well gone? COME BACK PLEASE!!! He improves his position in the League from second to joint first.
Second place in the match went to Claire. I think I know why she did so well this time around. She hasn't been sleeping too well lately, first it was her shoulder, now it's her legs. I do sympathise with her, I have trouble sleeping sometimes as well, and let me tell you, it's a bloody nightmare. But what does she do when she's awake? That's right, she drinks. And we all know that the more she drinks the better she gets! So she must have been drinking since the day before! Now I know what you're going to say... why didn't she win then? Well, even Claire can only drink so much! By the end of the match one of us were having to hold her up while another gave her a slap to make sure she could take her turn. As a result, she only managed second. She remains third in the League.
Kerrie managed third in the match. She actually graced us with her presence this week. For the previous fortnight she has decided to stay at home and post her results "remotely", so it was nice to see her. She stuck with her usual phone/dice/phone/dice strategy and it didn't really do her any favours. However, she did manage to book the next plane for her holiday. She has no destination, she booked the actual plane. Better get that overtime in Russell! She remains fourth in the League.
And, finally, I came last... last... bloody last! I was in such a good position and now I'm buggering it all up. I have been racking my brains as to why, and unfortunately I think I know. I'm a nob. I've got so comfortable being first I've let my guard down. This is something I crow on about all the time on this blog and here's me, ignoring my own advice. What a nob. What a big, flaming, fireworks to mark the occasion, 24 karat nob. Because of my nobness, I am now no longer the only person first in the League, no, I have to share it with Russell! But NO MORE. Next week I'm BACK!!!!! Mark my words...
