Summary
The Yahtzee League always has it's way of throwing out suprises, making us raise an eyebrow or exclaiming "shit" because you didn't do as well as you thought you would. This time around, it was no different!
Claire, yes Claire, the BHO's very own riches to rags story, came first in the Match. Is this a sign? Or is it merely a stroke of luck? Time will tell, but my money is on the latter. She does move from the very bottom of the League up to joint fourteenth.
Chloe came second in the Match. A pretty good result from a player that is still a bit of a mystery to us. Sometimes she plays like a demon but sometimes she plays an albino in a suntanning competition. It's also hard to know where her priorities lie, she is incredibly absorbed with work and we don't see her much now she has gone all independent and moved out from Claire's. Who knows, perhaps she doesn't like us anymore! Despite the good result, she moves down from tenth in the League to thirteenth. Ouch!
Grace, who finished third, seems to be getting shit done! She has been pretty consistent overall, and it's paying off! I don't know what kind of superfoods they are giving her down there in Wales (leeks, probably) but it is having the desired effect! She is now a true competitor in the League moving from third up to second!
Fourth place in the Match was James. Where the bloody hell did he come from?! Since the start of the League, James has made it his own personal task to make sure those in the bottom third of the League was okay for company. But not this time! I think it's fair to say that James isn't one of our most dedicated players. Who knows though, perhaps after this result... Because of this result he moves from fourteenth in the League up to joint tenth.
Russell came fifth in the Match. When I say that this fella has put his demons to rest, I mean it! He has definitely worked out how play the Yahtzee system! I mean, he finished fifth in the Match but he moves up from second in the League to first. Impressive stuff from the doddering gribbler!
Jordan, the Welsh goliath, came sixth in the Match with a pretty solid performance. He is sometimes a little bit slack when it comes to getting his score in, but that's understandable, he does work very long hours, this is also understandable as he lives with my daughter! He moves from seventh in the League up to sixth.
Seventh place in the Match went to Lee. He has spent two years searching for glory which sadly has not happened just yet. I have no doubt in my mind that he will find it eventually, but he needs to stop trying so hard at the beginning and getting so despondent when it doesn't immediately go his way. He also needs to stay of the Devil's Lettuce! He moves from ninth in the League up to eighth.
I came eighth in the Match. Boohoo, right? My League campaign is certainly not going the way I would want it to at the moment. But I am still optimistic. After all, we're not even half way through the League yet! Plenty of time to mount one my patented explosive come backs. But to be honest, while my come backs may be patented, I haven't really been able to use them yet! I move up from sixth in the League up to fifth. Progress!
Jacob came ninth in the Match. He's not been mouthing off too much lately. Primarily because he hasn't got a right lot to mouth off about. His scores seem to be drifting a little bit south of late. This could be because he's getting worse at Yahtzee. But I don't think so. I think he has a condition known in the medical profession as Distracticus Warcrafticus. It's a condition known to afflict nerds whenever a new World of Warcraft expansion comes out. Let's just hope that the novelty wears off before the League is over. Because of his affliction, he relinquishes top spot in the League and moves down to second.
Faith, another player who is usually preoccupied with other things, came tenth in the Match. Seriously, what on earth could be more important thant Yahtzee?! Anyway, I can't say she did a bad job. It was certainly no worse than any of her other efforts! But I take a special interest in Faith, because she is my wife and she is kinda letting the side down. Only joking Faith, but seriously, I'm always available for a bit of one on one tutoring, or any other things that a married couple might get up to... seriously! She moves from joint twelfth in the League to twelfth all on her own.
Millie gave a bit of a shoddy performance, coming eleventh in the Match. But she is a steely Welsh competitor and she is still very much in the Championship mix. Write her off at your peril! She remains fourth in the League.
Molly plopped in to twelfth in the Match, like the proverbial turd in the toilet that won't go away no matter how many times you flush. Poor Molly, she's getting nowhere fast. I'm not sure if she cares, but then again, no matter how hard I try, I can never put my finger on a single thing that she actually does care about. She is a narcissist in the truest sense of the word. Not that her chavvy arse would even know what a narcissist actually is! She moves from fifteenth in the League down to the very bottom.
Miles finished thirteenth in the Match. Now, there is no denying that Miles definitely has some Yahtzee chops. This boy has a history of playing fantastically. But he seems to be letting things slip this time around. He's gotten really into his music recently. Trouble is, his music tends to sound like pigs meeting their maker in a slaughter house. I think this may be affecting him negatively. As such, he moves down from eighth in the League to ninth.
Kerrie, or "the Yahtzee Phantom" came fourteenth in the Match. Why is she the Yahtzee Phantom? Well, it's because I can't remember the last time I saw her in person! But she always gets her scores across (eventually), under supervision of course. That's the great thing about the BHO Yahtzee League, you have a full week to get your scores in, whether online or in person, provided there is someone present to ensure there's no funny business! But anyway. Come back Kerrie!! We miss you!! She moves from eleventh in the League up to joint tenth with James.
Neil, the BHO's resident punching bag, came fifteenth in the Match, not a great result. Now, when I say punching bag, I don't mean that we bully him... well not about Yahtzee, anyway. No, he's the BHO's punching bag because after nearly two years of playing, he still doesn't know the bloody rules! BUT, he usually does okay, normally because he gets help from people that fall soft on him, but still. That wasn't the case this time around and he moves from fifth in the League down to seventh.
Lily finished last. Not great. But she said something to me the other day that was actually quite encouraging, she said "I'm actually starting to enjoy Yahtzee". This may not sound incredibly encouraging to you, but if you knew Lily you would realise that this was as close to committed as Lily gets. It's not that she's blasé about everything in life, it's more that on a regular day she can't even tell you her name, so when she mentions Yahtzee in a coherent sentence, you KNOW the BHO has had an effect. Result! But she does move from joint twelfth down to joint fourteenth with Claire.
