Summary
There is something about the League Matches being only once a fortnight now that lends an air of tension to the proceedings. We have more time to look back on our previous performance and evaluate what it is that we need to do the next time we are called upon to do battle! So when we descended upon the second League Match, we were focused, we were determined and the majority of us were just a little bit drunk!
Grace stormed into first place in the Match with a wonderous score, not something we have usually come to expect from the wannabe Welsh woman. But credit where credit is due, she pulled it out of the bag this week. She moves from thirteenth in the League up to joint fifth.
I came second in the Match with a score worthy of the Yahtzee Gods! This is not surprising. I have spent my spare time paying tribute to Gods (or brown nosing) in the hopes of earning a bit of favour with them. So far it seems to be working. I have moved from a very dismal seventh in the League all the way up to the top of the tree! And I intend to keep it that way!!
It may be early days, but James is already giving a good account of himself, coming in at a very fine third in the Match. I've got a sneaking suspicion that the human bowling ball I happen to call my nephew could very well be one of the strongest contenders this season. He does however move from third down to joint eighth in the League for now, but I have faith in him.
Jacob was back to more consistent ways, finishing fourth, after his previous Match, which to be honest, was a bit shit. I don't think I'm out of line by saying that, I think he would agree with me when I say that he played like wank and he is a crocheting ninny and maybe even... a nonce. Well, perhaps not the nonce bit... but everything else! He moves from tenth in the League up to joint fifth alongside Grace.
Millie came fifth in the Match. She played fine, but she still needs that all important kick up the crack to get out of this mediocre funk and get her into winning ways! She does, however, move up in the League from eighth to joint third.
Faith came sixth in the Match. She should be feeling pretty pleased with herself, it's not often that she manages a top half finish. It also did her a bit of good in the League, she moves from twelfth up to joint tenth.
Seventh in the Match was Russell. He played okay, but any match he plays where he is not haunted by ghosts of the past is always a good thing. I'm sure those ghosts are never too far away, but for now at least he seems "with it". Just don't get too close to him... He moves up from fourth in the League to second.
Kerrie came eighth in the Match. But I don't see her first two matches as a bad result, more like a beast that's just walking up from hibernation. She's not at full capacity just yet, but when she is, watch out. She moves from fifth in the League up to joint third with Millie.
Neil, who finished ninth in the Match, is nothing if not consistent. Two weeks in a row he has straddled the top and bottom of the Match standings. So at the moment, it is impossible to make any kind of predictions to the trajectory of his League journey. But to be honest, that's kinda true for all of us at the moment. He moves from ninth in the League down to joint tenth with Faith.
Jordan finished tenth this week. This result would normally be met with some consternation because, well, tenth place is not good. But when your previous position was dead last, everything is a bonus! I'm sure Jordan will be hoping that his first match was just a blip and his lovely Welsh self can do nothing but improve from here on. He moves from sixteenth in the League up to joint fourteenth. Not great, but better than last!
Then there's Claire, a seasoned pro (in both senses of the abbreviation), who finished eleventh, which for a player of such vintage (old) and prestige (won a couple of competitions) is simply unacceptable. Again, this could be early League jitters, but you would have thought she would have learned to deal with them by now. She moves from fifteenth in the League up to joint fourteenth with Jordan.
Chloe, the busiest of busy beavers in our League, came twelfth in the Match. It's true, she has a lot going on in her life, she does tend to put a lot of this stuff on herself, but that is just Chloe's kind and giving nature. Anyway, my point is, she plays Yahtzee on top of everything else she has going on, so it's often a balancing act. But still, she's doing okay. She moves from second in the League down to joint fifth with Grace and Jacob.
Miles on the other hand has absolutely bugger all going on, so finishing thirteenth in the Match is just bloody embarrassing. Pfft. He moves from eleventh in the League down to thirteenth! Pa-the-tic!!!!
In fourteenth was Lee, my old friend and logo makerer. Not quite as dead as I may have previously made him out to be. But if he carries on this run of shite results, he will be pretty much dead to me! Me and Lee, more or less, created the BHO together, and he just keeps consistently letting the side down. For shame. Only joking, but come on lad! Glory awaits!!! He moves down from sixth in the League to twelfth.
Now, if I wanted to find Molly at any point, I would check to see if she was propping up some local boozer, passed out at home due to too much vodka, or somewhere pretty close to the bottom of the Match/League. And where do we find her? Fifteenth in the match. Shocker! Although, she did finish first in the last match. But even a broken watch is correct twice a day. She moves all the way down from first in the League to joint eighth with James.
And then there was Lily... oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Now, I cannot confirm this... well I could, but it would mean me going through all the past results to confirm it, and who's got time for that... but I'm pretty sure that Lily has broken a BHO record, and it is not a good one. She scored... brace yourselves... a measly, a paltry, 92 points!!! Wow, I'm actually impressed. I didn't even know that score was possible. Even so, Lily managed it. Good job, Lily... I suppose. She moves from fourteenth in the League right down to the bottom of the League!!! Come on ya pinhead! I wouldn't have asked you to play if I didn't think you could compete!! You'll do better next time xxx
