Summary
It was time for match number five! That meant that after this match we were a third of the way through our inaugural Champions League. How time flies.
I, somehow managed to come first. There is no pride in that statement as this match was possibly one of the worst I have ever been involved in. I'm not saying this to denigrate my opponents in any way, in fact, I'm pretty sure they would agree. It was dire. It was as if the dice hated every single one of us and they weren't afraid to show it. I do however remain in first place in the table, by the grace of God. Kerrie came second in the with an equally un-noteworthy score. She even equipped her famed scroll and roll strategy. But, despite her second place position she still remains last in the table. I'm still waiting for those Yahtzee guns to start blazing again, but no sign yet. Russell came third, and if that isn't a sign that this match was shit then I don't know what is. This well travelled, dry aged fella has been on an absolute tear in the last few weeks, swatting opponents aside like he did with the SS in the war. But in this match, he was stricken like the rest of us, cursed into a mind numbingly mediocre score. He does, however, remain second in the table, my closest rival. Normally I wouldn't be worried about Russell, but given his recent scores (not including this one), a four point defecit in the League doesn't sit too well with me. Beat everyone else Rusty, just leave me alone, I need this! Claire came last, but honestly, there's no shame in this one, there were exactly twenty four points between Claire and myself in the match. In fact, maybe there should be shame. Shame from every single one of us. What were we thinking? This was amateur hour, certainly not up to the BHO's usual impeccable standards (yeah, right). It turns out that this score disturbed Claire so much so that she had to drown her sorrow in Carlsberg at my house until one in the morning. It was hard. We held each other and cried long into the morning. We promised never to let this happen again. She remains third, but I think we learned a lot about each other that night. That painful, horrific night.
