Introduction
Well, it been a week, more or less, since Miles and myself have got together for another battle of the dice board. But how as the week gone between matches?
I am pleased to inform you that Miles is still plugging away at the guitar, and he just keeps getting better. He does need to learn just one song the whole way through, however, but at least he's still trying! This gives me great hope that he might actually be a fine musician one day, something I tried but inevitably failed at. I do now have a lot more sympathy for my own parents that had to listen to me and my friends pretend that we were an accomplished rock band. I can state, though, that my friends and I were nowhere near as considerate as Miles when it came to the volume we "played" at. So, sorry Mum, sorry dad, not to mention the neighbours. Miles always keeps his volume in check, but still, we don't have a sound proof house so he can often be heard hammering away (at the guitar), and it can get grating on the ears. But I very rarely say anything. It's actually great to hear him get better and at least he's not on the Xbox, right?
It's been a surprising amount of time since Miles has come to me, usually when I'm writing a post for this blog, telling me that he wants some form of exotic animal as his new pet. But, Miles is Miles, and he's just as predictable as me, so it was inevitable it was gonna happen sooner or later. And it did. But this time he wasn't looking for anything exotic this time. He wants rats. Now, a lot of you may squirm at this idea, but I actually used to keep rats myself and they make fabulous pets. They're smart and they're incredibly friendly, but best of all, they're CHEAP! No heat pads, no live food, no massive tanks. And they cost about a tenner each. So, he was a bit taken aback when I actually gave him the green light to go ahead and get some. As I said, I love the furry little things, I would love to play with some again and give their fluffy little heads a stroke! But more importantly, because I said yes, I'm in his good books. Win win. Well, I'm in his good books until the next time I ask him to do something... or he asks for a crocodile.

Summary
Once again, I had to play catch-up. I couldn't let Miles be the first of us to gain a two match advantage. Not gonna happen. Unfortunately, both of us played like absolute tosh. In fact, if matches were awarded to the player who made the best decisions, neither of us would have won. Thankfully that isn't the case. We started off crap, stayed crap throughout and ended crap. However, for a huge majority of the match, Miles was in charge and I was playing catch-up. Or catch-up catch-up. Not that Miles had noticed; he was a bit too busy talking to me about almost anything. This might be the problem; he can't concentrate because he's too busy yapping and I can't concentrate because he's too busy yapping! If this is a tactic he's using then he needs to have a serious think. Yeah, it's not helping ME, but it certainly isn't doing him any favours either! Even though the match was naff however, it still came down to the very last roll. Miles had me beaten and I needed a Large Straight. And what would you bloody know? I only flipping got one! This NEVER happens to me! I think this was the first time EVER that I saw Miles genuinely disappointed to lose a match, simply because I snatched victory from him in such a cruel way. But, he is my son, and I have to say... I couldn't have cared less. A win is a win... and I won.
Standings
Chris 3 - 3 Miles
Final Thoughts
As joyous as this particular win was (ha ha Miles) I'm still not really celebrating. I'm pretty sure miles isn't either. And it isn't just because he didn't win the match either. No, it's because neither one of us can get a good bloody lead in front of the other. It's just too close to call at the moment. I need a good lead in the competition and so does Miles. No competitors want it to go down to the wire, even though it's good drama. I can tell you right now, I have a permanently sweaty crack at the moment and I will do until the end of the competition... What the hell did I sign up for?!
