Summary
It was Saturday and it was time for the very first match of the very first Champions League! Four past champions coming together to compete to be the champion of champions! Over the course of fifteen matches we will discover who that champion will be, so stick with us and come along for the ride!
In first place for this first match was none other than myself, with a pretty good performance, if I do say so myself. I was on top form, for a change; confident, risk-taking and, admittedly, a little bit lucky. Hopefully I can keep up this momentum in the future... but we all know it doesn't work like that. Boo Hoo. Russell came in second place with a pretty fine performance of his own. It's strange, ever since he turned 69 and got a few Guinness's down his neck on his birthday do, he's had a bit of a, dare I say, youthful glint in his eye. He's also gained an avuncular air about him and it's certainly showing in his Yahtzee scores. This makes me nothing but happy, but this could make him stiff competition. That is if the novelty of a jolly outlook doesn't wear off beforehand, which it could, because he's generally a miserable git. Claire managed third in a predictably average performance. She seems to have lost that spark, or perhaps she's just not hammered enough when we decide to play. There seems to be a correlation. And finally, in last place, by only four points it has to be said, was Kerrie. She employed her usual phone/dice/phone/dice tactic, but it didn't pay off. Not to worry, there are plenty of miles left in this League yet and I'm sure the table will look markedly different come the end of it!
