Summary
Claire knocked it out of the Yahtzee park this week, in our third Champions League match. She played like a woman possessed! Two Yahtzees and all the other dice just fell into place. Wow, this the Claire I remember! Perhaps the not so kind words I've written about her in previous summaries have had an impact. I like to believe that, but far more probably... she just got lucky. I hope not. After all, what is a contest without competition, right? But, Claire, fluke or not, don't let that Yahtzee train of yours slow down! She moves from the bottom of the League up to third. I came second in the match with a score that looks positively piddly next to Claire's. But I'm never gonna turn my nose up at second place, unless I should have won, which in this case, I had no hope of doing. I have to admit to being a tad distracted. What? Me? Yes, me. The summer sun was doing it's best to distract us all in Yahtzee HQ. It was one of those summer days where you break into sweat just by breathing. It certainly affected me, but thankfully it didnt quite destroy me. That came later. I move from second in the League to joint first. Russell came third in the match, fresh from his long trip... to my house. He was distracted, like in most other nights. But this time it was the heat. It probably took him back to the time he was in a plane crash and was the sole survivor of it. He landed smack bang in the middle of the Sahara desert. The only thing he had for survival was a packet of Pickled Onion Monster Munch and a bottle of Johnson's "no more tears" shampoo. He survived two months on just those. He was a different man when he came home. He was shitting bubbles for weeks. I just wish my mum hadn't recycle those bubbles for when it was my bath time. He remains first in the League, but now he has to share it with me for the time being. Now, if there was just one person that was affected more than any other by the ungodly heat of that evening, it was Kerrie, who finished last in the match. Not even her patented phone/dice/phone/dice strategy was helping her. As such, her scores suffered, big. All of us at this point were just big, dribbling lumps of flesh, but Kerrie had an extra symptom; the complexion of a beetroot or a teenaged lad that's just been caught by his mum knocking one out. I'll let you decide which one. But she did look about ready to drop. So you can't really blame her for such a performance. But JUST this one performance! Everyone is allowed to have one off day. Just don't go making a habit out of it! There's dignity at stake people!! Kerrie falls from third in the League downt to the very bottom of it... fourth...
