A few weeks have passed since my last updated on the creation of the Yahtzee packs for the wee younglings. So what has been going on?
Well, firstly, we are still in need of the dice required to actually put in the packs. So I took the proactive approach. I got myself on Ebay and sent a few direct messages asking for a bulk discount on 500 dice for a good cause in need (us). This is a big thing for me: I hate "begging" for things, although it is not strictly begging, just asking for a favour. Either way, I didn't have much luck, except for one company: tradedice.com. Now, they couldn't offer me a straight out discount, but they did suggest that I apply on their site as a company so we would qualify for wholesale prices. So I did just that that, and lo and behold, I was accepted. I also got a code for a 10% first purchase discount! So it just goes to show, it pays to ask! But they do still need ordering. Awaiting funds.
Other than that, we're actually getting close to the packs being complete. The BHO JR stickers have arrived, we have some printed slips directing people to a Yahtzee scoring app, as it's far easier and I can certainly imagine people getting bored of Yahtzee purely because they can't be bothered to fill in the score cards manually, which I completely understand! We also need a letter to the parents explaining why we are doing what we are doing and what the benefits are, including directions to the adult portion of the BHO!
Then, at long last, we will be done. We just need somewhere to hand the packs out! As mentioned, I sent my daughter's school an email, but alas, no response, so I'll give it (again, as mentioned) until after Chrimbo and see what's what.
But I'm still positive, things are moving and in the right direction!!
I can't imagine that too much will happen over the Christmas period, but for now I am very pleased with how things are progressing!
