Introduction
In the history of competitions that could have run a bit smoother, this competition is at the top of the list! I'm not going to get in to any details, merely because it would take too bloody long, just suffice it to say that it was the faff of all faffs. But, we got it done, learned some lessons as well (like, start a lot earlier, and play on a day when there are fewer hangovers) and we now have a new End Of Year Champion. So without further ado, let's get in to Round 1...
Round 1 - Summary
Russell came first in the Match with an incredibly un-Russell like score. In other words, it was a bloody good one. Sorry, Russ, but it IS true. He must have been incredibly focused, which again, is not like him. He proceeds to Round 3.
Another shocking result came in the form of Neil, who came second in the Match. He played an absolute blinder! If only he could do the same in the League! He too proceeds to the next Round.
Claire came third in the Match. Another result that is out of character. At least at the moment! Regular readers will know that Claire is currently dwelling in the doldrums of the bottom of the League. So given the context, this is an outstanding result! I was flabbergasted, and I was not the only one! She moves to the next Round.
Faith came fourth in the Match. Not exactly an astonishing result, but certainly better that usual. She has it in her when she feels like trying. She moves to the next Round.
Miles came fifth in the Match. Now, this wasn't a surprise. Everytime this lad turns up for a Championship he always turns out the results. Good for him and his fringe. He moves to the next Round.
Lee, the Green Queen, finished sixth in the Match, and gave a very good account of himself. It was a perfectly respectable score, but the difference between a passage to the next Round and slumping home with your tail between your legs can be a matter of mere points! So, hard luck chief, maybe next year. Lee was ELIMINATED!
Molly, who finished seventh in the Match, proved that she could actually be a bit of a threat in Yahtzee, if only she had the patience OR the inclination. Turns out, the moping sod doesn't have either! She was ELIMINATED!
James finished eighth in the Match. He too was a bit distracted. By what, I am not to sure. It was probably something video game based... and Yahtzee is certainly no video game. He was ELIMINATED!
Jacob, The Assassin of Lives... Live Matches, that is, came ninth in the Match. This was the first true shock exit of the Championship. I expected, well, I think we all expected a lot more from the Chiselled Prince of WoW. But it wasn't to be. He was ELIMINATED!
Speaking of shock exits, surely none can be more shocking than my own... right?.... Anyway, I finished tenth, which is truly shocking and it is a result that I will never forgive myself for!!! I was ELIMINATED!
Speaking of shock exits, Millie came eleventh in the Match. She has been doing so well in the League and the Live Matches that I had very high hopes for her. But it wasn't to be. She did look a little weary, but come on, that's no flipping excuse! She was ELIMINATED!
Lily finished LAST, which is no shock at all considering the state she rocked up to the Championship in... in her pajamas and extremely hungover. Last place isn't even outside of the realm of possibility when she's on her "A-game" so it was actually pretty much a foregone conclusion! She was ELIMINATED!

Round 2 - Summary
The second Round came along just a wee bit later than it should have done, but it did come along, eventually...
Claire took the top spot in the Second Round. It really is amazing; just like Jacob seems to destroy us all in the Live Matches, Claire seems to have a certain knack for one-off Championships! She is through to the final!
Russell stole second place, with an okay score, but he did his bit by God and he's actually earning some street cred with his Yahtzee skills. He goes through to the final!
Faith once again proved that she is the dark horse that I always knew she could be by coming third place. She does love to win, but she is often too busy to try! She goes through to the final!
Neil came third in the Match, with, it has to be said, a pretty steep drop off in performance quality. This could be purely circumstantial, or it could have something to do with the fact that his Chinese takeaway was waiting for him. What can i say? Some people have other priorities, the psychopaths! Anyhow, he was ELIMINATED!
Then there was Miles. Miles, OH MILES! He came last in the Match. I was counting on him to do better because with him being my son, I still felt like I had skin in the game! But nah, he sucked. He was ELIMINATED!
Round 2 - Results
1. Claire - 295
2. Russell - 238
3. Faith - 263
4. Neil - 182 - ELIMINATED
5. Miles - 149 - ELIMINATED
Final - Summary
So it came down to this, the final. The Match where the Champion would be crowned, and I have to admit, my nip nips were tingling!
Third place in the Match was Faith. It wasn't a great score, but take it from me, she did fantastically well and I am incredibly proud of her. Good for you Love!
Second place was Claire. I'm pretty sure she expected to win, because she usually does when it comes to these one-off Championships, but not this time, darling! So take yourself off, have a Carlsberg and a nice big POO!
Our Champion this year then was none other than Russell! We were all shocked but I think everyone would agree that we were all happy for him too. Good on ya Rusty! AND, not only did he win, he also broke a BHO record that evening! He is the first player to achieve three Championship Badges. Truly impressive! Keep it coming fella!!
Final - Results
1. Russell - 243 🏆
2. Claire - 219 - ELIMINATED
3. Faith - 169 - ELIMINATED
