Summary
Due to the fact that there was so few competitive Yahtzee matches scheduled for the Saturday (thanks Molly), we decided to make the Core Championship a double header.
Match #17 - Summary
Claire bagged the first win. She could certainly do with the points. This Championship is proving not to be quite as favourable as the others she has participated in. I have noticed that an irritating habit has started to creep back into her game after being largely absent for an extended period of time and I think it's affecting her performance. The habit? Waffling. Blah blah flipping blah, yap yap yap. She was full of it on this particular evening, but she still managed the win, which is annoying. Kerrie stole second place in the match using her usual doom scroll and roll technique, barely looking up from the phone while she rolls the bones. But hey, if it works, it works. Russell came third in the match. He's struggling a bit in the Core matches, but that's understandable. He's having a hard time of it lately. He just can't shake the memories of having to defend his Earldom from the murderous viking hoardes. So, I guess his performances are entitled to be a bit iffy every now and again. Coming in at the very bottom, is... me. I was not very happy about this. I have a decent, but not unattainable lead, so I can't afford to be coming in bloody last! I give myself a good chinese burn as reprimand for such a shoddy performance. I called myself a number of ear bleedingly offensive names and told myself get my arse into gear. Out of fear, I agreed...
Match #18 - Summary
...and get my arse into gear, I did. I snagged the victory, with a modest win, but a win nonetheless. This helped to pacify the darker side of my brain, who by now was a bit weary after giving me an ear full, so it crawled back into it's rusty cage and went to sleep. This was a bit of a relief as for now I remain at the top of the table. Russell, who was still half elsewhere, brooding over the time he was subjected to the "Blood Eagle" execution performed by none other than Ivan The Terrible, managed to pull out second place in the match, which just goes to show he can calm those demons when he has to. He remains fourth in the table, with a lot of work to do. Kerrie came third in the match, luckily for me, with a pretty poor score. Not that I'm resting on my laurels, if anyone can make a last minute dash to the finish line, it's this young lady. She remains second in the table. Coming last in the match with a dismal score by any standards, was Claire. It's really hard to see a two time champion like her to struggle so much, it almost brings me to tears just recounting her downfall. Only joking, it's hilarious. She's had enough time in the sun, and between you and me, she's getting a bit cocky and she needs putting back in her place. She remains third in the table.
Core Championship Table as of 05/04/25
1. Chris - 4323
2. Kerrie - 4174
3. Claire - 3755
4. Russell - 3601
