Summary
It was Sunday evening, an odd day to hold a competitive Yahtzee match, but whatever keeps the clock ticking. It was the turn Claire, perennial souse, and James, the human gummy bear.
Claire, our two time champion, took the first game with a fairly good score, but James wasn't too far behind, so it seemed he could quite possibly be a thorn in the champion's side, especially if she'd had too much of the amber nectar, although I wouldn't know as I was not present for the match, so I'll just assume she had. It's the safest bet. Game two also went Claire's way, but it was even closer than the previous game. James was doing a great job proving he can mix it up with the best of them, he must be putting something extra into his Fruit Shoots. The Gaming Commission have been notified. Claire took the third game, by some margin this time. Someone must have given her a slap to bring her out of her hazy state and it must have worked, at least for now. Game four went to James, but only by one point, so it was close! That slap Claire recieved mustn't have been hard enough, either that or she'd just slurped back another gallon of Denmark's worst lager between matches. Either way, she was letting her guard down. It was the perfect opportunity for the cuddly Ewok, my nephew, James, to shoehorn his way into the match. And that's exactly what he did! James took game five by the short and curly's and won by a modest but fair margin. You see, James is a newcomer to the world of Yahtzee, but boy is that half pint Buddha a quick learner. You can't help but root for the lad. Game six also went James's way, making a phenomenal comeback, making it level pegging, taking it down to the final match. Claire would need to switch on and sober up. And the final match came... and went... and unfortunately, Claire won, and she's on her way to the final, where she will face Russell in the ultimate showdown. So, commiserations James, although I think he's secretly relieved; he's not the most competitive chap on the planet and has quite a short attention span. So, congratulations... I suppose...
