Sometimes I like to talk; get some random thoughts out of my brainium. So I thought I would do it on this blog, as most of what I have to say is Yahtzee related anyway! Is this a good idea? I don't know. But at the end of the day, if it isn't for you... move on. Don't get me wrong, these posts are not going to be anything deep, depressing or anything of the sort. It's just a chance for me to look back at where we were and see where we have come, plus highlights over some great BHO moments that I think are worth discussing!
So if you are bothered, read on. If not, don't. And if none of you could give a shit, that is fine also; it will just be a nice "diary" entry that I can look back on and smile, or cry... or go for a big poo! Whilst reading this of course. What are phones for anyway?!?!
If you read this blog consistently, or you are involved in the BHO then you will know that we have just had our 2nd anniversary party! I'm not going to crow on about it too much as there is a post already available for your reading pleasure. But what I will say is that I am still riding high off that warm fuzzy feeling that it gave me. We had our own private room, in a pub and 90% of our Faction's members attended. It made me feel like the BHO was legitimate. There is much more I hope to achieve, but after two years and lots of fun, I was incredibly proud of what we (not just me) had acheived! I have a tendency towards the negative aspects of life so to see something like this is enough to bring a big, hairy fella like me to tears. I managed to contain myself, but still.
Since then, we have not stopped. The League is ongoing and it is certainly not decided yet. There are a good few Matches to go and there are still a few contenders!
Also, we have started playing Matches for cash. Nothing consistent, and I'm not talking about entry fees. I just thought it might make things more interesting when we are not playing the League! I decided to play the League once a fortnight because people struggled to attend because they were too busy, which in turn has, ironically, led to a lot more Yahtzee Matches. So I thought why not have a Match, when the League isn't on, and play for cash. This seemed to go down quite well. For the first week at least! I was very happy with this... primarily because I won and took the cash... then I played again and lost it all! But I'm gonna leave it there. Check out the Cash Match Summary if you wanna know how it all went down!
Anyway, that's about it for my "ramble" or unofficial "update". Basically I just wanted to make a post (which kind of got away from me if I'm honest) to acknowledge all the people that join me and play a game that I truly love and follow an endeavour that I am truly passionate about. There are people that play in the BHO that love it; there are also players that love it but need a kick up the bum to get them to comply, then there are those players that would rather not, but they do because it means an awful lot to me. And, if you can follow the logic, that means so much more to me than Yahtzee!!
But I love every member of the BHO, I love all of you that read this blog regularly and I even love all of you that dip in to this blog every now and again!
So. Please, even if you are half interested in Yahtzee, drop me an email and I would be more than happy to let you know how we do things! We play in person AND online, for most Championships! So, geet in touch, if it's not for you, that's fine. But how do you know if you don't find out? 🥰
