Can you flipping believe it? TWO WHOLE YEARS of the BHO. I am proud that we have lasted this long; flabbergasted that we have lasted this long; and hopeful that we last twice as long (and much longer after that)!
We started as a few family members playing a Championship for a bit of a laugh. And to be fair, if it wasn't for me, and this is definitely not a boast, taking simple things just a little too seriously, we wouldn't have made it this far. This is just my obsessive compulsive side at work! Although, any mention of the genesis of the BHO cannot possibly be considered complete without mentioning my nephew, Lee. He took this game and really got others interested before I could even have a chance. What a legend. He was basically the BHO's minister of propaganda in it's early days and the BHO would most definitely not exist without him! So thank you Lee, I owe you a lot... well, a bit... well, I'll make you a cuppa next time I see you...
So, anyway, two years later, we have this blog, we have seven Champions, we are spreading the word, we have Live Matches and we are giving back to our community by getting the children involved and teaching them along the way! Our blog's viewership has grown amazingly (for a Yahtzee blog at least) and, in my very humble opinion, the only way is up!
This blog has never, ever, EVER been about money and it never will be. Every penny that comes in to the BHO goes directly back into the BHO, to make it grow and to continue to help the younglings, and perhaps sprinkle some prize money about here or there.
We are also hoping to grow the BHO to a point that we can host in person events. In the interest of full disclosure, we are nowhere near that point, but here's hoping!
We do have a slow, but growing, followship and I do hope that this continues.
Anyway, all this is to say, thank you to my family and every regular player of the Yahtzee Championships, thank you to those that have joined us for a Live Match, however briefly, and thank you to all the readers of my blog that puts up with my long, but hopefully entertaining, waffle based posts.
I love and appreciate you all, I hope that we can continue for years to come and I hope that we can continue to spread the Yahtzee based word, to adults as well as the wee young whippersnappers.
You are all fantastic and I love you all! (I know, I'm repeating myself again, but it IS true)
So, happy 2nd birthday Mr. BHO, and here is to many, many, MANY MORE!!

P.S. Stay tuned for the rundown of our birthday celebrations which we are calling "Dice Party", that is happening Saturday 11th April! Although it probably won't get posted on that specific day as intoxication will probably hinder my writing. Still, give me a few days. If I said it's coming, it's COMING xxxx
