Summary
So, it had all come down to this. The final match of League two. What could have been a nail biting tussle of a match was actually more of a formality, due to Kerrie's commanding lead. But the rest of us needed to find our final resting places in the table, so we got underway.
Millie walked away with the match victory with a decent performance, which was surprising as it doesn't happen too often. What was perhaps even more surprising than her victory was the fact that she was actually in a good mood. This is highly irregular and slightly creepy to be honest. Millie finished the league in a respectable fifth place. Lee, playing with his usual large foreheaded swagger came second in the match. He has been a steady competitor over the course of the League and this match was no exception. He finishes in the very enviable position of joint second in the League. An improvement over his previous fourth place position. If Millie winning the match was surprising, then Molly reaching the dizzy heights of third in the match is bloody baffling. But, pulling out the big guns in the final match is not exactly the best strategy, nor was it enough for her to improve her position in the League, she finishes the tournament where she's pretty much spent all of it. Dead last. Kerrie lolloped in to fourth place in the match, but it was all academic really. She was the champion before the match had even started, and as the icing on the cake, she took home the fabled champions badge on her birthday no less. So, many happy returns and congratulations on taking home the title. You lucky tart. Neil managed to squeeze his massive hooter into fifth place in the match. Whether he achieved this honestly is anyone's guess. He managed to finish a very respectable second in the League, joint with Lee. I finished sixth in the match, which is a pretty fitting footnote to the story of my League perfomance. If I could abbreviate my performance overall down to just one word, it would be, meh... I finished joint sixth in the League. Which to be fair, is an improvement from seventh. But not much. Russell limped into seventh in the match. Which was mildy traumatic for the old gribbler as he had his sights set on second place in the league. But it was not to be. It was his biggest disappointment since the time he spent in the trenches, killing an impressive 398 soldiers single handed in one day. Unfortunately he was facing the wrong way and all the soldiers were British. Hitler personally thanked him for his cock up and for doing his bit for the Motherland. He finishes the League by dropping from second and ending up in fourth place. Better luck next time Rusty. Claire finished a disappointing eighth in the match. It's truly depressing to see such a warrior of the BHO reduced to such pitiful perfomances. Well, it would be, if I wasn't so bloody happy about it. Sorry Claire. She finishes eighth in the League, avoiding the bottom of the table only because Molly played like a complete lemon for the entirety of the competition. Last place in the match was my dear, unfortunate wife, Faith. She's been semi consistent throughout the League, so it's a shame she ended her campaign with a bit of a damp squib. She finished joint sixth with little old me.
So that's it for League two! Once again, congratulations go to Kerrie for taking home the badge and Molly, if you're reading this, pull your bloody socks up lass! Massive thanks go out to all the competitors for taking part and putting up with me tearing them to shreds each week in the summaries. The League will be back, but we've got a Head to Head Championship to crack on with beforehand!
