Summary
The new year had passed and it was time for the first League match of 2025. The Christmas period had taken it's toll and we were all a little weary, but still raring to go nonetheless.
There were no flashbacks of kamikaze pilots or Russian Gulags for Russell this evening. He was on the ball! Seeing 2025 in with a belting score, finishing in top spot. Good show old bean. He moves from fourth to joint second in the league. Coming in second in the match with a pretty fine score was Millie. I wish I could say something more negative as she was a total sourpuss during the match, refusing to pass the board along. Very poor sportsmanship. But what can you expect from the Welsh? Just kidding, Millie, I'm not one to hold a grudge. She remains sixth in the league. Finishing third in the league was Millie's other half, Lee. He played with poise and elegance, well, he did when his head wasn't stuck to the table while watching Japanese tentacle porn (that's an assumption, but he looks the sort). Lee maintains fourth in the league. Neil was our only absentee of the match. He no doubt had lots of domestic chores to catch up on, like laying on the couch in his undies getting more of his Chinese takeaway on the floor than in his mouth. He set his score a day later under armed guard to prevent cheating. He finished fourth in the match, improving his position from third to joint second in the league, joint with Russell. Finishing in joint fifth in the match was Kerrie. She seems to be in a bit of a slump at the moment. If things get worse, who knows what will happen. She remains first in the league. Watch how you go young lady, people are after your seat. Also joint fifth in the match was my lovely self. The crushing defeat of the End Of Year Knockout was still fresh in my squishy filing cabinet, but I tried not to let it affect me, and I thought at the time I had done an okay. Nope. I'm getting used to not doing very well by now, but surely the Yahtzee Gods will give me a chuffing break at some point. PLEASE!!! I remain in seventh. Also joint fifth in the match (how does that even happen?), was Claire, fresh from her End Of Year Knockout Victory, she quickly returned to her current form. She just can't hit that bonanza. She is getting a bit gobby about the two Championship badges she's won, so perhaps her ego is clouding her judgement. Maybe she should just zip it and get back to cooking those Full English Breakfasts she ruins for a living. She remains in a very sorry eighth in the league. Arguably Faith suffered the most after this match, finishing eighth. Maybe it could be the copious amounts of prosecco she had consumed over the holiday period that threw her off her game. She's not used to it, bless her. She did try as well as her, ahem, slightly inadequate brain would allow her, but she did give it all she had, it just wasn't her day. Sadly, Faith falls all the way from second in the league to fifth. Nevermind love. And then there was Molly, last, again. She does try, God help her, but I just can't help thinking she has her mind on other things, like standing around bus shelters in the pouring rain asking random people for 50p in the hopes of raising enough money to be able to afford a can of Tennents Super. She reamains at the very bottom of the league.
