He broke it too far down! |
If your "faction" or group of friends that you have decided start a league with is of a reasonable size like mine, it is inevitable that not all of you will be able to be in the same place at the same time, every time. And boy don't we know about it. It was due to all our delays that I resolved to find a solution so delays would more or less cease to become a problem. Thus, the split match was born.
It's pretty simple really. First of all you need someone to keep track of all your scores, but if you're playing in a league, you should have someone anyway. Split the match into those that can get together, have them play, get them send an image or a screenshot to the person responsible and just collate the scores after the fact. See, simple.
Just a few words of caution though. The split match format only works if you can completely trust the players in your league. If you can't, then don't split your matches. It's not worth it, just play when you can. A league doesn't have to be over as quickly as possible. But if you can, like i can, it can be a great way to keep things moving.
A short post this time around but I've mentioned split matches in a few posts now so I thought it was only right and proper that I address it.
The BHO Rules and Regulations have been ammended accordingly, as below:
"Players can play a "split" match, wherein those that can attend play their match and others play theirs at a later time. The scores are then collated after the fact. All players must be in agreement for a split match to proceed. All scores must be collated before the next match can begin."
