Note From The Editor
For this league match, we decided to do something that I didn't necessarily want to do, but had been thinking about implementing for a while and finally felt like I had to. If you read the roundup of league 2 so far, you will be aware that it has been slow going. Getting everyone in the league together to get a match in was proving difficult. Well, the same could have been said for this match. But, I thought no, there must be a way we can crack on, even if we aren't all present. So I introduced the split match. The idea is simple really, there's nine of us in the league and only five of us could make it on the Saturday, so we played our league match and set our scores. The remaining four got together on the Tuesday and had their league match and set their scores. I then collated all the scores and adjusted the league table accordingly. Is it ideal? No. But it did keep us from playing another load of friendlies and kept the competition moving forward, however slowly that might be.
Summary
We start this summary with a shocking announcement. I hope you're sitting down. Russell Bush played an absolute blinder for once, finishing top spot in the match and improving his position from joint fourth all the way into second. Not the performance you would expect from the old man, but well deserved nevertheless.
Yours truly came in second in the match with a fine performance, which some might say is a shock in itself, but I was on fine form that evening. However, I only managed to improve my position one place, rising from eighth to seventh in the league.
Third place fell to Kerrie with a respectable score. There was no sign of underhanded tactics, which is all the more impressive. Much to the consternation of the other competitors, she was still holding on to the top spot in the league.
This is where the scores took a turn for the worse, illustrated by the fact that Neil finished fourth in the match, holding on to fourth in the league. I don't so much put this achievement down to Neil's Yahtzee prowess, but more down to the fact that everyone else did a lot worse.
Millie had a poor outing also, but this is expected by now. She finished fifth in the match, holding onto sixth in the league. A true beacon of mediocrity.
Lee underperformed, which is becoming more regular than in recent times, finishing sixth in the match. This cost him dearly as he fell from third in the league down to fifth. How is that humble pie tasting Lee?
Claire continues to disappoint, finishing seventh in the match, falling even further down the league, from seventh place to eighth. This is a far cry from the Claire of League 1.
Faith, who had been on a pretty good run, took a bit of a fall from grace this time round, finishing eighth in the match. However, she suffered only slightly in the league, falling from second to third.
Molly, dear, dear Molly. Things have never really got going for you have they? Last in the match, again, Molly gave a really rather dismal performance, achieving nothing but to cement her place at the bottom of the league as the other competitors make her eat their dust.
